LEONIE COHEN TRIO
plus special guests PAUL CUTLAN & NICKY CRAYSON
Leonie Cohen is a gifted jazz pianist and composer who has appeared at the Melbourne Festival, Sydney Festival and the Sydney Opera House. Cohen’s trio will be fleshed out with saxophone from Paul Cutlan, a multi instrumentalist who has worked with Lou Reed, Jerry Lewis and Michael Bublé, as well as being a long-standing member of the Australian Art Orchestra, and the ARIA winning world music group MARA! The quartet will perform compositions that combine jazz, classical and traditional Jewish melodies, before vocalist and improviser Nicky Crayson joins them to perform a thrilling array of jazz standards and cheeky arrangement of your favourite 80s pop songs. Nicky’s incredible talent has earned her praise from Tony Bennett, who described Crayson as a ‘… singer who dared to dig deeper’.
