Breezy, brilliant bossanova from a Brazilian singer with real pedigree – a peer of João Bosco and Torquinho.

This Brazilian singer/guitarist is a born samba, MPB and choro performer whose style evokes the classics of the bossa nova tradition of greats Gilberto, Jobim and Menescal. The beautiful São Paulo native modernises the rich history of Brazilian music, sharing the stage withpeers like João Bosco and Toquinho. Imagine a gossamer curtain falling around floating chords from a nylon string guitar, and you approach the tone of Setton’s hypnotic vocal in a band setting. Setton has performed around the world in iconic theatres and jazz festivals like Parco Della Musica (Rome), Theatre Grec (Barcelona), San Javier (Spain) and Brazilian Summer Fest (New York).

We’re excited to host the dreamy Brazilian at the Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival to play songs from her 2018 eponymous debut, along with standards from the much-loved Brazilian tradition. This event is presented in conjunction with Waverley Council.
